Welcome to the INKsomniacs team blog hop!

Im really excited that our team is putting on this blog hop this month, and even more excited to be a part of it!  Our team is not super large, but they are such a great group of girls, and we share ideas and projects together on our team forum.  Of course we all have a love of card making and paper in common, so sharing comes naturally to us.  I love our team!

The theme for our hop this time is "Monochromatic".  I noticed that some of us interpreted that a little differently... but as with all cardmaking, there really is no right or wrong. Its up to each of us to interpret the theme the way we want to. For me a Monochromatic card is one that uses just one colour.... and probably a neutral against it.  So I made 3 different cards.... the colours inspired by the beautiful Crinkled Seam binding ribbon we currently have in our Annual catalogue. (Note this ribbon will come to an end when the catalogue retires at the end of May, but I just love it, and though I might stock up.... please let me know if you are interested in a share of these gorgeous ribbons.... Im thinking a share next month might be a good idea before its gone forever! Click HERE to email me and let me know you are interested!)

The ribbons come in 4 great colours.. but as one of them is Emerald Envy and I didnt really want to create green flowers, I decided to work with the other 3 colours.  With 1 week left of Sale-A-Bration, I also wanted to use the gorgeous Heartfelt Blooms flower and sentiments. I am really going to miss this gorgeous set! Its been so perfect for all kinds of occasions and its been super popular with my customers too.  Such a beautiful stamp!

So above you can see the 3 cards I created for our theme.  They are all very simply stamped, a circle added to emphasise the sentiment, and the beautiful ribbons add a touch of softness to each card.  As a final touch I had to add a little bling (I know... I cant help myself!).  There are also some little "dewdrops" on each card, brought to us by the Glitter and Clear Epoxy shapes.

Here's some close ups:
Peekaboo Peach:

Berry Burst:

Night of Navy:

Don't forget if you love this stamp set... or any of our other lovely Sale-a-Bration sets, you have only 1 week left to jump in a grab them whilst you can!

Beautiful Day Butterflies Embossed and Coloured in Pink

With only one week left of Sale-A-Bration for 2018 I am planning on having a SAB "last hurrah"... where I'll be showcasing some of my favourite SAB products.  In case you've been living under a rock, SAB is possibly our biggest promotion of the year, and all these gorgeous free gift-with-purchase items will be coming to an end on March 31st.

One of my absolute favourite items from this year's offering is the Celebrate You thinlit dies.  But these are a little different to the other SAB items for 2 reasons:

1. While most items are free with a $90 order, these thinlits are a higher value item... so these ones are free with a $180 order

2. Almost all the other items in the SAB are limited edition meaning they will not be available again after March 31st.  These thinlits however are going to be available as a retail item in our upcoming Annual catalogue (due out June 1st!).  That means that even if you dont get them now... you will be able to purchase them at full retail price in June. BUT if you want them for free... you need to get them now!

Here they are:

I've created up a storm with these gorgeous thinlits over the past couple of months... if you've been following along Im sure you've seen me use them!  Today I used them to create the "Amazing You" across the centre of my card.... and they are just perfectly matched with the delicate butterflies on the card.  (The butterflies are from the "Beautiful Day" stamp set)  This card was actually relatively simple... and a lot of fun to make.  I hope you love it.

I've included a product list below should you wish to purchase any of these items for yourself.  (Click on the items you want to be taken to the Online Store... all you need is your credit card.  Items are sent directly to you, anywhere in Australia).

Have a fabulous day, wherever you are!

Welcome to the March Alaska Achievers Blog Hop

Welcome to this month's instalment of the Alaska Achievers Blog Hop.  This hop is open to anyone that has earned the next Stampin'Up incentive trip to Alaska, and showcases some awesome projects from some very talented ladies.  I am thrilled to be hopping with them this month.

This month's theme is simple.... we are again showcasing Sale-A-Bration and Occasions products.  As there is only days left of this year's Sale-A-Bration promotion this is a timely reminder to get your orders in before the 31st March!

For my project today I choose a blue palette and used several different elements to bring my card together.  I've used a Bermuda Bay wash background on my Shimmery White cardstock, and the silver striped paper is one of our free Sale-A-Bration offerings... the Springtime Foils DSP pack.  Such gorgeous paper!  The heart sits on a Vellum circle and I coloured the heart from the "Sure do Love you" set with the Baby Wipe technique (and oldie but a goodie).. using Bermuda Bay, Perfect Plum and Pool Party inks.  The "Celebrate" is cut from the Myths and Magic glimmer papers, using the Celebrate You framelits (another free SAB set).  And the Bermuda Bay satin shimmer ribbon is from yet ANOTHER free SAB pack.  Wow... there is a LOT of free product on this card!

All these items and more are available in my ONLINE STORE.... so if you wish to purchase any of them for yourself head over there now.

And of course there are lots more Occasions and SAB projects to check out on our Blog Hop today.... click the name under mine below to continue the hop.  I hope you enjoyed my project, and thank you for being here!

Flying Home from Stampin'Up makes the Sweetest cards!

One of my favourite sets in our current Occasions catalogue, is the beautiful "Flying Home" stamp set.  I received this one as a gift at our last training day with Stampin' Up.... and I loved it from the moment I saw it.  I love birds of all kinds, and bird houses have always been fascinating to me too. So to have both in a lovely set, ready to colour..... well it has my name all over it.

The card I've made for you today is a simple enough project.  I stamped the 'birds in a nest' stamp onto Whisper White cardstock, and cut it out with the largest circle in the Stitched Shapes framelits (my favourite dies ever!).  I've coloured my image with Stampin' Blends (colours listed below), and then mounted the circle with dimensionals onto a Dazzling Diamonds scalloped circle.  The background paper is from the Myths and Magic DSP pack (doesn't it look great with that image!).  I borrowed the sentiment from the Petal Palette stamp set.... I find I am using those a LOT.... I love the font they have used, and there are so many useful sayings in the set.

Flying Home is available in red rubber as either a Wood-mount or Clear-mount set.  Visit my Online Store to order.

I hope you enjoy this sweet little card today!

Happy Card with Bird Banter and the Tutti Frutti notecards

I have to be honest and confess that I hadn't paid much attention to the Tutti Fruitt notecards and envelopes (which you will find as a free offering in our Sale-A-Bration catalogue this year), and I had totally forgot that I had a set of them sitting here.  But yesterday I cracked them open and made this card.  The Tutti Frutti notecards and envelopes are one of the free items you can choose with a $90 order.

I love that they have super cute matching envelopes with funky designs on the envelope liners.  And the colours are great... but my favourite card is this Lemon Lime Twist striped one... isn't it cool?  There's is something so happy about Lemon Lime Twist!  On this card I decided to pair it with the Bird Banter set, and I used the Macaw stamped on a circle, and this coloured it with some of my Stampin' Blends.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set.

I did also borrow the leaves in the background from the Petals and More framelits..... which are also a free SAB item right now... available with a $180 order.  I've included a product list below should you wish to purchase any of these items for yourself.

Dont forget that Sale-a-Bration comes to an end on the 31st March, so if there are items that you still wish to get, you'll need to hustle!
