Using the Cable Knit Embossing Folder from Stampin'Up!

I'm playing with something new today! When my order arrived on my doorstep this morning I sat straight down to play with this awesome embossing folder.  It's actually called a "dynamic" folder, and when you get it, the first thing you will notice about it is that it is a LOT thicker than our other folders. It's dynamic because the result is so much deeper and gives you a true 3D look.  In fact, its so thick that you will need to remove one of the cutting plates when rolling it through your Big Shot.  So you can see it in action, I've included a video below from Stampin'Up that shows the best way to use it.

I also enhanced the 3d look to this folder by going over the finished paper with a sponge brayer in the same colour as the cardstock.. in this case the colour is Sweet Sugar Plum and I love the extra shadows you can create when you brayer over it.  For a simple but effective background you will find this new Cable Knit Embossing folder is simply awesome.

Silver and White reindeers for Christmas

Today's card is a simple design, but there is quite a lot of embossing on it, so you would have to love to emboss to copy this one.  Luckily, I DO love to emboss!  And I always think that silver and white are so elegant together, don't you?

I've included a product link below for you, and hope you enjoy this little Christmas card :-)

This Christmas Speciality DSP for beautiful Traditional cards

This year we have some gorgeous Christmas paper packs, and if you are looking for really traditional designs, you cant go past the "This Christmas" speciality DSP in our Annual Catalogue.  I put these couple of cards together very quickly and you don't need lots of stamps or extra stuff to create them.  The co-ordinating cardstock colours are Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green and Very Vanilla... and if you have those plus just a few accessories you can create a myriad of different designs.

Today I have used sentiments from the "Stitched with Cheer" stamp set.  I've included a product list for you below.

Petals & Paisleys Copper Embossed

I am having so much fun with the new Petals and Paisleys suite... and its perfect for simple and effective cards. The sheet of copper-embossed paper I have used on this card is a sheet from the Speciality DSP pack.  The background colour is Dapper Denim, and the copper embossing is simply divine.  I've added the panel to a Crumb Cake background and then used Versamark to stamp some of the shapes from the Paisleys & Posies stamp set. A small strip of Copper Foil paper sets off the edge of the paper, and I also used Copper Embossing powder on the sentiment.

If you like this card then its easy to reproduce!  Below are the supplies I used...... if you are in Australia you can order them here through my Online Store.  Have fun!

My first Z Fold card with the Santa's Sleigh Bundle from Stampin'Up!

Im not sure why it has taken me so long to give these z-fold cards a go.  But they sure are popular right now!  Yesterday I sat down to design a project for my upcoming stamp clubs and thought that this card type might be a simple but effective project for Stamp Club.... and I think it is!  Im guessing you are going to be seeing more of this card type from me. And now that I've made one, my mind is swirling with lots of ideas for similar cards... so stay tuned :-)

Im not going to put up a tutorial just yet, as I'd like to show my stamp club girls first.

The stamp set I've used is the Santa's Sleigh set in our current Holiday Catalogue, and the co-ordinating framelits are really easy to use. I used the x DSP so chose my colours to match.... Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green and Vanilla.  But there's some Crumb Cake and Gold in there too, which I think work well.

Below is a list of supplies to help you if you are looking to purchase any of these products for yourself. If you are in Australia, they can be sent to you anywhere in the country via Aussie Post for a low postage charge.  Click the item you want and you will be taken to the Online Store :-)

Have a lovely day!

Copper is IN!

Did you know that Copper is IN right now in the paper craft world.. in fact not just in paper craft but you'll find it in homewares and design shops too! Which is just as well really when you consider just how much of it I used on this card.  Phew!

Today I am showing off a card that I made just for fun last night.... sometimes the urge to create just grabs me and I need to do it RIGHT NOW.  This happened last night... I came across a piece of copper foil on my craft desk and it kind of just grew from there.  I cut, I embossed, I added ribbon and washi and it just kind of came together without any particular kind of plan.  But it probably looks as though I had no plan too.... and thats ok! lol  I still liked how it turned out!

I LOVE the copper elements we have in our current catalogues... in particular I adore the copper foil paper... it feels quite sturdy to work with, and embosses beautifully (as you can see above in the copper circle).  I think the copper works well with lots of colours, but I especially love it with purply shades... Rich Razzleberry and Sweet Sugar Plum were used here.

I also cut the leaves and the border strip from the foil, and used Copper Embossing powder for the sentiment.  All the items I have used are listed below, should you wish to source these items for yourself.  If you are in Australia you can order them through my Online Store and they are delivered to your door via Australia Post for a low postage charge. Or you can click on the item you wish to purchase below. Any questions, don't hesitate to CONTACT ME.

Have a wonderful day!
