Video Tutorial: Getting the Best results with Background Stamps

Today I've made a quick tip video to show you how to get the best results when using Background Stamps.  Background stamps have long been one of my favourite items in the Stampin'Up! catalogue and I use them on a regular basis.  But there are a few tricks to getting the best out of them, and if you watch the video below you will hopefully be able to use these in your stamping too.

Today's card was actually the card that I sent out to my Online Customers for July to say thank you for their orders.  Here is a bunch of them prior to being sent out:

Don't they look good all together like that???

The background was created with the "Marbled" background stamp.  I've included a product list at the bottom of this page.  In the meantime, here is the video for you to check out:

Enjoy! (And if you haven't subscribed to my Youtube channel make sure you hit the "SUBSCRIBE" button over there!)

Love Quilting? The Quilted Christmas Suite is for you..... (another Sneak Peek!)

Today I am showing off another new suite from the upcoming 2017 Holiday Catalogue.... and for the sewing/quilting people out there.. this one is for you!   This fabulous new suite is called "Quilted Christmas" and there are stamps, framelits, DSP and accessories to match.  I love that all the pieces co-ordinate and fit together, and there are so many options.

Today I've used the DSP in the background of my card, and then used the framelits and stamps to create the centre piece. The centre flower is stamped and then the pieces cut so that they fit into the silver glimmer frame. I love how easy it is to piece them together.   (This card is to say thank you to a friend for her recent kindness to me and yes, she is a quilter.  I used the "Thank You" from the Daisy Delight stamp set)

The Quilted Christmas bundle will be available from September 1st, 2017.   I'll be showing off lots more that you can do with it, but in the meantime enjoy this sneak peek!

Video Tutorial: Square Cut out Christmas card with the Carols of Christmas Bundle

On the weekend I made this cute Christmas card.  I love how the flower cut outs in the background frame the sentiment.  The pieces are all from the Carols of Christmas bundle.... and I have been having SOOOOO much fun with this awesome set!

If you are thinking of getting this bundle for yourself don't forget my little special this month... for the month of August (2017) I am offering a pack of mini dimensionals to anyone ordering this bundle via my Online Store.  Click HERE to go to the Online Store.   Just make sure you use this Hostess Code when prompted:

I decided that a video tutorial would be a good idea to show how I created some of the elements on this card... in particular the flower cut out background, and the sentiment "Peace".... which I have used from the stamp that says "Peace on Earth".  The video has some good tips on how to achieve this.

Weekend Crafting with new products.... Latest Sneak Peek!

I love the weekends when you have a little downtime and can indulge your passions.  Something I love to do is play with new products and this weekend I go to do just that!  There are so many truly gorgeous Stampin'Up products coming your way next month with the release of our new 2017 Holiday catalogue...  and I am really enjoying playing with them right now!

One of my favourite perks of being a StampinUp demonstrator is getting our hands on the products first! We usually get to order our items the month before our customers.  I love all the excitement that surrounds a new catalogue and I love knowing that my customers are busting to get those catalogues in their own hands too.

So today I wanted to show you a sneak peek of a new suite coming your way... its called the "Year of Cheer" suite, and there are so many gorgeous products in it... I haven't even shown you half of them yet!  But here's just a glimpse at the "Cheers to the Years" stamp set and the Winter Wonder Embossing folder. I've chosen to use the debossed side of the folder in the background, and added a sentiment from the stamp set, and 2 small snowflakes, all embossed in silver.  For some shiny touches I added some Fabulous foil acetate, and some glimmer dots.

Here's a close up:

If you are in Australia and would like to get your hands on a free copy of this new Holiday catalogue please let me know by clicking HERE.... and I'll send one to you.  Or if you are in driving distance of the Central Coast and would like to come along to my new catalogue launch see HERE for details.

Enjoy this little sneak peek!

Video Tutorial: Versamark Resist Technique with Glossy White Cardstock

Here is a super simple way of getting a great look to your backgrounds with minimal supplies needed.  On this card I have used the Carols of Christmas stamp and framelit bundle to create this great Versamark Resist background.  With Glossy White cardstock making a return to the StampinUp catalogue this year we suddenly have a whole slew of new techniques to play with... and I think you will like this one.

I was inspired to try stamping the words on the background after seeing a card by Leanne Johnson, an overseas demonstrator for StampinUp who creates beautiful cards.  Her card had the words stamped on an angle like this too, and I loved this look. So I decided to step it up by using the Versamark Resist technique to make it even more of a feature of the card.

In this closeup photo you can kinda see how shiny that glossy cardstock background is.... I just love it!

I've made a little video to show you how its done.  (Oh and there's a little Holiday catalogue sneak peek in there too)  I hope you enjoy it!

Coffee Anyone? Enjoying the weekend with the Coffee Cafe Suite!

Its Saturday morning here in Australia, and the first thing I love to do on any morning, is enjoy my first coffee of the day.  Contrary to popular opinion, I don't actually drink a lot of coffee. - only 1 or 2 cups on a typical day... I just really really enjoy it.   So I've become known as a bit of a coffee lover.  I love the ritual of making the coffee, or of going out to enjoy it with friends and good conversation.  I love having it served in beautiful cups or mugs, and I LOVE that aroma of a freshly opened container of coffee beans.  Mmmmmmm

Here's a coffee cup that my Coffee Cup was served in at Sydney Airport when we came back from Thailand. First great coffee back in Australia and it was even served in this beautiful cup. Isn't it lovely??

So when StampinUp went and gave us a WHOLE SUITE of Coffee associated stuff... well it was a no-brainer for me... I had to have it!  It went on my very first order from our new Annual Catalogue. Here is what the bundle looks like:

And in addition to these stamps and framelits there are also matching papers (as seen in my card above, and in the product list below) and other items as shown on page 31 of our annual catalogue.  There are also these gorgeous samples on page 30:

Aren't they fabulous???  Some fantastic ideas right there for us to copy!

I made this coffee card (at the top of this page) to show off this awesome suite.  I LOVE that the coffee cups in the bundle really do look like coffee cups... right down to the takeaway lid of the coffee cup!   This card was actually a lot of fun to make... I hope you enjoy it too!
