Sad Moments

I am so lucky to have wonderful customers in this business. Many people who started out as customers have become friends to me in an amazing way. Without them I dont know where I would be!

A couple of my customers are also sisters, and sadly their Mum passed away a couple of weeks ago. I wanted to show you the card that I made for them.

"Thoughts and Prayers" is a great set to use when you are not sure what words to say.. I've used it on several occasions.

Ink: Chocolate Chip

How cute are these boxes???

I love these! Partly because they are sooooo easy, and very quick to make up. Lucky too because I chose to do these as thankyous for my daughter's birthday get together with her school friends. Dont they look great? I originally got this idea from Marelle Taylor... thank you so much Marelle! It's actually known as the Sevens Box.. because all the measurements are 7cms. That's what makes it easy.

I did a couple of different versions of these as this month's Stamp Club project.. we filled them with cello bags (stamped with white Stazon) full of smarties and they look so cute! Stamp Club is nearly finished for this year so come January 2010 I will be starting a new Stamp Club.. let me know if you would like to be a part of it and I will book you in. Stamp Club works best with 6 people, and we hold club nights every second month. Each time you will make a different type of project. Members commit to spending a minimum of $50 at each Club night, and that way each member gets their turn at being the hostess and getting the hostess benefits over the course of the year. It's a great way to build up your supplies bit by bit.

If you are interested in joining next year's stamp club (yes, I have already had interest for 2010!) please let me know. The first club night will be at the end of January (to take advantage of Sale-A-Bration) so it's first in-best dressed. The first person to join will be the January hostess.. so that's a great one to get things going. Sale-A-Bration is without doubt the biggest promotion of the year.

Club nights are held at my home in East Gosford on the Central Coast, NSW. If you would like to join, or would like further information, please contact me at lindastamps@bigpond.com

More Christmassy stuff

I am just loving the Tree Trimmings set from the current Mini. I have found it so useful, and for a relatively inexpensive set ($24.95 for the four stamps) there are soooo many things you can do with it! And it lends itself really well to a variety of techniques too. On this card I used the Rock and Roll technique to highlight the designs on the ornaments, but you can use markers and chalks effectively with this set and it looks wonderful embossed. So if you are looking for a good well-priced Christmas Stamp Set, then this one is a winner for Christmas 2009.

I've decided to offer a little deal with this one. If you purchase the Tree Trimmings set, the Ski Slope Designer Series Paper and the Red-and-white wide Grosgrain ribbon (like the one on this card) or any other roll of SU ribbon for that matter, you will also receive a free marker in the colour of your choice valued at $5.75. This special just runs until the end of September and you need to mention this blog post when you place your order.

How do you order? You can email me at lindastamps@bigpond.com with your order, or you can call my mobile to order anytime on 0412 375 552. I can have your order delivered to anywhere in Australia for a small postage charge.

Enjoy the card!

By Request

You all know that I love to make cards and to create. I enjoy all the cards I make. But every now and again I come up with a card that people just seem to love. The card you see here has been one of those cards... and I have been asked by many people if we can recreate it. I've done it at a couple of workshops this month, and I also did it at my last Christmas Stamp-A-Stack. The colours were inspired by the Ski Slope Designer paper. Im not sure why it was such a hit. The colour? The design? If you have any clues what makes this particular card a winner, please let me know!

Stamps: Tree Trimmings (from the Spring Mini Catalogue), and Short and Sweet
Cardstock: Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Real Red
Ski Slope Designer paper
Other accessories: Scallop Edge Punch, Large Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Choc chip wide grosgrain ribbon, Real Red and Old Olive Markers, Paper Piercing Tool and Mat Pack template, Dimensionals

Enjoy the card, and I will be back soon with more for you.

Glad to be back guys!

Christmas Stamp-a-Stack Monday 7th September - a few spots left

Just a quick reminder for those people who are interested in my Christmas Stamp-A-Stacks - I have one coming up this coming Monday night (7th September, 2009) and I still have a few spots left. For anyone who hasn't been before, at a Stamp-A-Stack you get the chance to make a "stack of cards" - 6 to be precise. We make 3 each of 2 different designs, and this is a great way to get on top of your Christmas Cards heading towards Christmas. I hold at least one of these each month. You can see other upcoming classes listed to the right-hand side of this blog.

The cost for the night is $15, and light refreshments are provided. If you would like to join us, please email me at lindastamps@bigpond.com Classes are held at my home in East Gosford, and I can give you my address when you book in.

I hope to see you there!
