What's coming up... and a sneak peek :-)

So Christmas is over for another year. Most years I am almost relieved when its over because I usually get a bit over Christmas cards by the end... although this year we had so many Christmas products to choose from that I probably could have kept going! But I am sure you are all anxious to see what's coming next.... and today's card is a little sneaky look at a couple of the new SAB 2013 products that you will be able to get your hands on from January 22nd. (This year's is the biggest selection of SAB products we have had - EVER!  you can get one free selection for every $100 that you spend!)

On this card I've used a piece of paper from this year's DSP selection, which is called "Sycamore Street".  There is also a ribbon and button pack to go with it, but I havent received mine yet, so I have used Seam Binding ribbon (in "Pool Party") instead.  The sentiment is from a new set called "Vintage Verses" and I stamped it in Whisper White craft ink, and embossed it with white embossing powder. The little die that I used to cut it out is from the Apothecary Accents framelits set. This was a super quick card to put together, but I am feeling pretty inspired now that Christmas is done, and I will be back really soon to show you more. :-)

We are still in the second week of the Clearance Sale (click on the pic below to see the list of Clearance items) and although many of the items are sold out, there are still lots available. Email me if I can help out with any of the items on the list for you... some items are as much as 70% off so there are some real bargains!

And then there is a new listing that begins on the 3rd January... check out the list by clicking on the pic below:

To order just email me or click HERE.

I hope that everyone has been enjoying the clearance sale. Dont forget that these items are not normally available - they were discontinued in our last catalogue which came to an end at the end of August 2012. To see them you will need to refer to the old catalogue. I do still have some of those catalogues left if anyone needs one... just ask me :-)

I do hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas and that you are enjoying some down time over the holiday period.  I'll be back with more new creations soon :-)

Here is todays card in full:

Mass Production with Floral Framelits and Daydream Medallions

Here is what I've been working on today... well in between cleaning up after two small children who are able to mess up the house way faster than I can clean it. (Dont you just love school holidays??)   I am making quite a lot of this card for a special group of people... and so it had to be simple but effective.. and I think I managed it ok. :-)

This card is kind of a tribute to my favourite couple of cards from the past year... I used the Floral Framelits from Stampin'Up! to make the card a flower shape, and stamped the "Daydream Medallions" onto "Baja Breeze" Cardstock before cutting a smaller flower from Silver Glimmer paper.  The Silver Star is a Christmas decoration that I bought as little gifts. I have glue dotted the star on so that the recipients can easily remove it to hang it on their Christmas tree.

So it really was a simple little card to make, but I was really happy with the result.

Dont forget that Round 2 of the Clearance sale begins at midnight tonight... so if there is anything you dont want to miss out on please email me your order today (click HERE) and I will make sure that we get in quick. Last week I had to contact people and let them know that many of their ordered items were out of stock! I dont want that to happen this week if I can help it.. so please email them through as soon as you can.

Click on the pic below to see this week's list. These items were in our last annual Catalogue and were discontinued  back in August this year.  So when looking for page numbers you need to be looking at the old catalogue. The Mocha Morning paper will be popular at only $9.50, (original retail was $24.95), and the 2010-2012 Incolor Marker set at only $8.95 (rrp was $27.95). All items are drastically reduced.. some by up to 70%.  But its first in, best dresssed....

The annual Writing of the Christmas Cards :-)

No prizes for guessing what I've been up to tonight.. yep... writing out some Christmas cards cause it's that time of year again!  One of the advantages of running Christmas card classes throughout the year is that come Christmas time I usually have quite a good stash of cards. Which is very cool as it really wouldnt be good form for me to purchase Christmas cards would it??

I wanted to let you all know that on 21st December Stampin'Up will hold its next Clearance Blitz with products up to 70% off.  After last week's efforts when a large number of items sold out on the very first couple of days I am not leaving anything to chance and plan on submitting my order for the clearance items as soon as I can. So... already some clever customers have sent me their lists of what they want.. if you would like to make the most of the sale and get your order in quickly too then I suggest that you EMAIL ME with a list of what you would like by Thursday (20th) and I will endeavour to get it for you ASAP. Of course you can still order after this time, but as the items are first in, best dressed, I cannot guarrantee what will still be in stock and what will be gone.

Click on the picture below to see the list.  Dont forget that the page numbers are from the 2011-2013 annual catalogue as these items are temporarily coming out of retirement to be on the clearance list.  Everything will be available only for the dates shown or until stocks run out.. whichever happens first.

To order, send me an email by clicking HERE.

Saturday 15 December 2012

Uh oh.... Lesson learned

Well as many of you would already know we had a new Clearance Sale begin yesterday.  I had quite a few emails from you all wanting to order things on the list. Went to put the order through last night only to discover that quite a few items on the list are gone ALREADY. And it's only the first day!

I guess I knew these items would be popular. But really?  Sold out on the first day?

The items I know for sure that are gone are the Basic Gray Markers, the Cherry Cobbler striped Grosgrain ribbon (and I wanted some of that for myself!) and the "Christmas Greetings" stamp set in wood. There may be already more items gone that I am not yet aware of. The point here is... if you want something... dont wait! To place an order simply email me by clicking HERE.  Orders can be sent anywhere in Australia for a low postage charge.

Today's photo above is a little Christmas frame that I made up with the Snow Festival Designer Series Paper.  It was simple and quick to make, but I loved the result. Hope you do too!

Ornament Keepsakes card - last SASs of the year

This week I have my last Stamp-a-Stacks of the year. Tonight (Tuesday 4th) and then Thursday 6th December at 11am. Here is one of the Christmas Cards we are making... it turned out kinda like it was in my head... although its never exactly the same dont you find??  The ink colours on this one are Rose Red and Soft Suede... I think they look quite beautiful together.

If you would like to book in for the final Stamp-A-Stack, please contact me by clicking HERE.  As always, you will make 6 cards, and all materials and light refreshments are provided. Cost is $15.  In the new year I will be lifting the price of my Stamp-A-Stacks (other classes will remain the same in 2013) but they remain at $15 until the end of the year.

I'll be back soon with more cool things to show you. :-)

December Ribbon Share

I've had quite a few people ask me to do a ribbon share of the Stitched Satin Ribbons. So I am opening up a new share... to take part email me (by clicking HERE) and let me know that you want to be of it. There are 5 different colours, (this year's Incolor Range) and in the share you will receive a 1/4 roll of each colour. So that's approximately 2.27cm of each colour. Normally one roll of ribbon costs $15.95 (plus postage) but to buy a quarter roll of all 5 colours will cost $20 including postage. So who's in?  Just let me know by the 14th December and I will make sure you have them before Christmas.

I thought I would show you a sneak peek of the jars that we decorated at the Christmas Gift class last Saturday. It shows the Stitched Satin Ribbon in the Gumball Green. We made 4 awesome projects at the class and everyone loved them. I will be running this class again on the 13th December at 11am.. just EMAIL ME to reserve your spot. At time of writing I still have a few spots left.

I hope you enjoy the reindeer too.. he is made with the Owl punch and his antlers are made from two arms of the Snow Flurry Die.  Enjoy xx

Saturday 1 December 2012

It's Here! Available from today!

And what an awesome present this would make for your crafty friends and family. If you've been looking for an alternative to your old cutting system I have to tell you how excited I am that Stampin'Up have finally released their own, and much improved, paper trimmer.

I love mine! It cuts beautifully... and I am so pleased with all the new features. Like:

  • Numbers are under a clear film so wont rub off with use
  • There is a printed grid on the surface to make sure you always cut straight (we didnt have that before)
  •  The trimmer comes with both cutting blade and scoring blade and there is room for both blades in the track without having to remove one to cut or score.
  • There is a storage compartment underneath to hold lots of extras (bone folders, extra blades etc)
  • The measuring arm locks into place and has a foot underneath so that it wont flap around and will be square for cutting.
  • The plastic protective piece (dont know what its called sorry) that goes over the cutting track also locks into place for transporting.
But my favourite thing is how well it cuts. You can either take my word for it and order yours by emailing me (click HERE) or check mine out and see for yourself. For $49.95 (plus postage and handling) this is a great buy for Christmas and beyond. Upgrade whatever cutter you are currently using and enjoy the results.

Christmas Decorations Class this Thursday... still spots left

Just a quick reminder that this Thursday (29th November) I am running again my Christmas decorations Class at 11am, followed by a light lunch. If you would like to join us simply click HERE to send me an email and reserve your spot. All materials and lunch is provided for a cost of $25. You will go home with three projects that you have created yourself. :-)

I have to say I am a little disappointed with the photo as it really doesnt do these projects justice. They look so better in real life :-)  But hopefully you get the idea. I hope to see you!

Sunday 25 November 2012

Annual Christmas Gift Class

As I have done for the past few years, I am running my annual Christmas Gift Class again this year.  At this point I do still have spots left. What's different about a Christmas Gift class?  Rather than just cards or 2-D items you will actually be making gifts that you can either keep for yourself or give away at Christmas. My only rule about what we make is that it needs to be something that you can duplicate at home for yourself should you wish to make more of them. With Christmas now only a month away, this is a great time to get stuck into making your pressies.

One of the items I usually make is a Christmas Frame.. and this year I am doing one again. The one you see above is one of my rejects.. ie.. I've decided to go something slightly different..but I can tell you that it will be a little similar.  This was one of my first attempts whilst mucking around with an idea.....The one I have chosen to make with you is superior in my opinion ;-)

So... if you would like to join us on Saturday 1st December for an afternoon of fun and crafting please email me here.  If you haven't been to a class before, I run them on the Central Coast and will supply the address for you when you book in. To reserve your spot, email me by clicking HERE.  The cost is $40 for this one, and ALL materials and Christmas-themed refreshments are provided. :-)  We'll get started at 1.30pm.

Friday 23 November 2012

Christmas Gift Idea... and a special for you :-)

Now HERE'S a good idea!  What about Gift Vouchers for your crafty friends this Chrismtas??  I have been making up some lovely gift vouchers that would be suitable to give to any friend who loves papercraft... you can make them any value you like.  And they dont have to be paid for until your recipient actually places their order (which is a great way to delay payment until after Christmas to help with pre-Christmas budgeting). I have had quite a few people purchase these of late, and one of the suggestions they have been making is that their friends might even want to delay their orders until the 22nd January which is when Sale-A-Bration 2013 begins.. to make the vouchers even better value. Don't forget though to get the freebies during SAB the order needs to come to over $100.

So I thought I would offer a little special for the anyone ordering gift vouchers between now and Christmas... every gift voucher ordered over $40 in value will receive either a free inkpad (which you can keep for yourself or give to your recipient) or a free class with me up to a value of $20.  The inkpads on offer would be the Classic Ink in the various colour families - and these are the new style of Inkpad.  If you havent seen the new Inkpads, there is an awesome video about them. You can access the video by clicking HERE. .

I've put up a pic of what the Gift Vouchers look like - they make great gifts and you can include them inside a Christmas card if you wish. To order your Gift Vouchers just email me at lindastamps@bigpond.com  (or click HERE) and we'll get it happening in plenty of time for Christmas.  Here is a pic of a Christmas one for you:

On My Front Door

Look what I made on the weekend :-)

Have to say I am pretty pleased with myself. It was easy, and didn't take all that long to put together.  It's not one of tomorrow night's Christmas decorations, but if I have enough people interested I might make this a class. What do you think?  This particular project was inspired by the one that Sophie from SU showed us at the Sydney Heartfelt Stamping Event last week.

As for tomorrow night's projects.. I will put them all up for you later today.  I still have two spots left if you would like to join us. Email me by clicking HERE if you would like to come along.

Sunday 18 November 2012

This month's specials...

What with the Penrith Craft Show and the Heartfelt Stamping Event over the past two weeks I have been terribly busy. So it will probably come as no surprise to many of you that I suddenly realized this weekend that I havent even put up this month's specials on my blog!  For shame!!!

The month might be half over, but that's not too late to let you know about our great specials.  Firstly we have the Ornaments Bundle special:

And for qualifying Hostesses (and yes that includes Stamp Clubs) between now and 16th December there is the wonderful "INK-REDIBLE promotion".  If you host an event that reaches $650 in sales you will receive a full set of inkpads in your choice of colour family. (Brights, Subtles or Regals) There are 10 in a set and they are worth $9.95 each!  And that's on top of the already awesome hostess benefits.

If anyone would like to take up these awesome offers please just email me by clicking HERE.

My second Heartfelt project

As many of you know, last week I was honoured to demonstrate at the Heartfelt Stamping Event.  Stampin'Up held these events in various capital cities around Australia and both customers and demonstrators spent the day learning new ideas and techniques, watching demonstrations, and getting to have a play with lots of new products.  Everyone got to go home with things that they had created, as well as at least one new stamp set (I was really lucky and got 3!!!).  The day was held at the Sydney Exhibition Centre at Darling Harbour which I think is an awesome venue.

I chose to demonstrate our Window Sheets (AKA Acetate sheets) and I did a couple of simple projects to show different ways of using it. I put up a photo of my first project (scroll down on the blog to see it) last week, and today I wanted to show you the other project. Very very simple... but I loved how this cute little card turned out.  The "jar of hearts" is one of those ideas that I must have dreamt because I woke up one morning with this idea in my head. :-)

In case you missed it.. below is another photo of my demonstration.  Hopefully we will have even more people join us next time!

Chistmas Decorations Workshop Next week

Hello everyone.. I wanted to pop in and show you a couple of photos of one of the decorations we are making in the Decorations class over the next couple of weeks. This particular project is a much simpler (and quicker) version of the ornament that is featured on the cover of our current holiday catalogue.

I've used some of our Candlelight Speciality paper for this one, and added some scalloped Tulle ribbon as well. It's actually very easy when you know how!

If you would like to make one for yourself (as well as a couple of other decorations) then come along to my Christmas Decorations class. The evening class will be held on Tuesday night 20th November @ 7.30pm.  Or if you prefer a day class I will have this one available on Thursday 29th November.@ 11am.  All materials and light refreshments are provided, and the cost of the class is $25.

To book in just email me by clicking here.

I hope to see some of you :-)

Here's a close up for you:

Embossing Class Tonight... Still spots left

I am running two Embossing Classes this week... I have one tomorrow (Wednesday 14th November 2012) which is almost full, but the evening one tonight (Tuesday 13th November) still has spots left.  Embossing remains after all these years one of my favourite techniques.. and it is certainly one of the most popular. You can see above one of the 3 projects we will be working on.  This one uses the beautiful "Postage Due" stamp set... and I have gone for an antique look using the "Emboss Resist" technique. If you would like to make this card for you yourself contact me today by clicking HERE.

The class starts at 7.30pm and you will make 3 lovely projects for a cost of $20.  I run classes on the Central Coast, and can give you the address details when you book in.  All materials and light refreshments are provided.. you just need to bring yourself :-)

I look forward to seeing you :-)

A Great Day Out - Stampin'Up's Heartfelt Event recapped

It's Sunday morning here and I am starting today slowly after a very big exhausting but exciting day at Darling Harbour yesterday.  I love Stampin'Up events and make sure I never miss one, and yesterday's Heartfelt Stamping Event was no exception.  How much fun was it?  The only down side to these events is that it is simply not possible to catch up with everyone... and please accept my apologies if I missed you yesterday!  But I did get to see lots of people, and was so excited to see so many of my own customers and team members there yesterday.   The Sydney Convention Centre is a great venue.

In previous years we have been holding what has been known as Regional Training for demonstrators, but this year they changed the format to make it more suitable for guests to attend. And I think they succeeded very well.. the focus was definitely on products and techniques, rather than business-type activities. Everyone I spoke to seemed to enjoy themselves, and there was certainly lots to see and do. Having said that, you could take the day at your own pace, and choose which activities to involve yourself in at different times. For me, I really loved the day... and I hope to have even more people along as my guests next year. The $120 registration fee in my opinion is a bargain for what we got back in return.  I enjoyed my lunch that was provided, love my new stamp set ("Clockworks") and I even won a prize in the prize draw.  I didn't get time to do my make and take projects (as I was demonstrating in the afternoon) but I plan to do those at home.  The projects were amazing (I think my favourite was Sophie's amazing Christmas Wreath which I have taken a photo of up above for you).

I am sorry if I didnt get to say goodbye at the end of the day to all my friends, but I hope you loved your day at Heartfelt too, and hopefully I will catch up with many of you at Convention in Brisbane in May 2013.  Here are a few snaps for you:

Snowflake Soiree Christmas Tag

Lately I have been making a few Christmas tags.. in fact the one here is from a tag class that I ran last week. I loooove these colours together - Pool Party, Island Indigo and white (the blues are both from the 2012-14 Incolor range).  I hear-embossed the snowflakes in white embossing powder before sponging the colours over the top. Simple, but sooo effective.  :-)

Today is actually the very last day to get a free spool of Stitched Satin ribbon with every $60 of product ordered.  For more details of this promo click HERE.  Or to place an order with me you can phone it through to me on my mobile, or alternatively, click HERE to email me. You just need the orders with me before 10pm tonight, 31st October, 2012.

I am today preparing for the next few days in Penrith at the Penrith Papercraft Show.  If you find yourself with any free time from Friday 2nd November to Sunday 4th November, please come and see us at the show.  There will be lots to check out, and we are also offering the chance to make a card with us as well.  I hope to see you there. :-)

12 Days of Christmas - Tags

I dont mean to scare you but next week it will be only 2 months to Christmas... and so next week I have my monthly project class and we are going to be making Christmas Tags. 12 of them in fact. So if you are coming to class next week, come along ready to get stuck into some fast work and make your Christmas tags to dress up your pressies this Christmas. Some of the tags are so ornate that that they could double as Christmas Decorations... like the one at the top in the photo above.

I've just shown two of the tags here to give you an idea of the kind of thing we will be making. There will in fact be 6 different designs and you'll be making 2 of each one.

The class will run on Tuesday evening the 23rd October at 7.30pm, and also at 11am on the 24th.  The cost to attend is $25, and this includes all your materials and light refreshments.  So I do hope you can join me... and if you would like to reserve your spot just email me by clicking HERE.  At the moment I do have a few spots left in each class.

Enjoy!

Beautiful Season Watercoloured

For those coming along to my Watercolouring Class here is another of the projects you will be making.  And since Christmas isnt all that far away, I thought I would make one of the 3 projects a Christmas card. It's an easy one... but how nice do those colours look together?? The stamp set is "Beautiful Season", and the main image makes a great image for watercolouring, as shown here.

My class this evening is now full. And tomorrow's class has only one spot, so I am really happy with the attendance levels :-)   Thanks to all those who are coming, and dont panic if you cant be here... there are other classes coming up!  Next week's project class still has plenty of spots.  We will be making Christmas tags at that one... I'll pop a photo up for you over the next day or two.

The weather is finally feeling more like Summer than Spring.. today is actually on the hot side. 34 degrees today (that's Celsius for my overseas readers) which is lovely, and I am sure there is plenty more where that came from :-)  I hope you are all enjoying the beautiful weather whatever you are doing.. and will be back with more creations for you soon :-)

Watercolour Classes this week

I thought you might like a "Sneak Peak" of one our projects for this week's Watercolouring Class.  Stampin'Up released this gorgeous new stamp "Pleasant Poppies" in our recent new catalogue, and I have been looking for the perfect chance to use them. Well here it is!  I love the way the poppies come alive with their petals watercoloured. And there is something very therapeutic about Watercolouring... its very calming :-)  Something we all need more of in our busy lives!

At the time of writing I still have a few spots left in my evening class (Tuesday 16th October at 7.30pm), and just one in the day class (Wednesday 17th October at 11am). I dont overfill Watercolouring classes as it requires some time to watercolour effectively.  So I have capped the classes at 6 for this one.

If you would like to join us, please email me by clicking HERE. The cost is $20, and you will make 3 projects, and learn how to turn your inks into beautiful Watercolours. I am really looking forward to working with you.

Here is this project again, but close up so that you can see the Watercolouring better. Enjoy :-)

Postage Due with Markers

This time I am showing off another card using markers... but this time I used the "Direct to Rubber" technique. This is how you get gorgeous multicoloured images.  Stampin'Up's new stamp set "Postage Due" is great to use in this way.

The ink colours I used were Soft Suede, Bravo Burgundy, Old Olive and Early Espresso.  I used used the Elegant Butterfly and Postage punches to punch out the two shapes. A really quick and easy card that could be used for all kinds of occasions.

Dont forget that next week I am running my Watercolouring Technique class and right now there are still a few spots left in both the Tuesday evening and Wednesday daytime class. Just EMAIL ME if you would like to come along.

Bordering on Romance with Markers

Today I just wanted to show you a quick little notecard I made in the holidays.  I was staying at my friend Vanessa's house and so I got to play with some of her stamps... ones that I dont have :-)  "Bordering on Romance" is a set in our new Catalogue that was previously in our Autumn/Winter Mini, and I thought it would be good to use with our markers.  I had been wanting to try out our Stampin'Write Markers on Crumb Cake cardstock as I had seen on some other blogs... it looks quite striking, but is easy to achieve.

You will need to choose a line-drawing image such as the one here. Stamp it in pigment ink (I used Versamark) on to your cardstock, and then heat emboss with White Embossing powder. I then coloured it with our Markers, starting with the lighter colours first and then bringing in the darker colours. This card took only minutes to make, but the end result is very effective dont you think?

For more ideas or information please email me by clicking HERE.  I also run classes teaching various techniques so if you would like to attend Papercraft or cardmaking classes on the Central Coast (Australia) please contact me. This month I have a watercolouring technique class and there are still available spots at this point. Or I can come to you and show you how to make beautiful things at your place. :-)  Stampin'Up have lots of beautiful products to make your projects come alive!

School Holiday Crafting

It's the second week of the Spring School holidays here and this past Monday we had what our family affectionately calls a "Pyjama Day". Really its just an excuse to not change out of your pyjamas all day, but that's our right to do every now and again don't you think?

I had headed into the craft room to work on something, and my kids were wanting to see what I was up to. In the end we all sat down and worked on gingerbread houses that we made out of the Mini Milk Carton die. I didnt have a specific purpose in mind... we were just creating for something fun to do... but I did think that they would make pretty cute Christmas decorations. You could even put lollies or something in them if you chose.

We used "Soft Suede" as our gingerbread colour, Miss 9 came up with the idea of using the smallest brights buttons as flowers and strips of green for her flower stems. We used the Delicate Doilies sizzlits as the roof.. Mr 6 had the job of pushing out the little bits of paper from the holes: (a job he quite liked)

They were pretty pleased with their efforts and it kept them busy for a good block of time on Monday morning.  I hope everyone else is having a good school holiday break... dont forget that classes begin again next week! I have actually now filled the Tuesday Evening Stamp-A-Stack, but the Wednesday 11am class still has a few spots.  The watercolouring classes the following week is filling quickly too. Please email me by clicking HERE.
